If there’s one day I can get behind, it’s Galentine’s Day. It’s all about celebrating the people who get you, the ones who show up, laugh at your jokes, and always have your back. It’s a reminder that love comes in all forms—and sometimes (oftentimes), it’s your besties who you really couldn’t live without. Sometime’s I think the actual Valentine’s holiday makes people feel more alone instead of celebrated for exactly where they are in life right now.

I also believe there should be an emphasis on self-love for this holiday. I don’t think that’s talked about enough. It can be a great balance of giving yourself some serious self-love and showing the girls how much they mean to you.

Galentine’s Day, btw, is not a set day. But I will be starting celebrations on the 13th. I’m starting the day out with a fun workout (lately, it’s Pilates at Reformcore, a jog while listening to my favorite book, or a fun cardio-heavy dance class.) I’ll follow that with a mini massage or facial. I have been feeling creaky squeaky lately (this is me being dramatic about my 30’s) so a massage is necessary.
